Drama Centre (DC), an Arts House Limited venue, appreciates your support and places utmost importance in the well being and safety of our patrons, artists, and staff.
Since February 2020, DC has put in place precautionary measures including increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of our venues, staff temperature taking, and temperature screening and visitor registration for contact tracing during events and festivals.
In line with MOH’s and MTI’s advisories issued on 3 April, all AHL venues were closed since 7 April 2020. However, based on the latest guidelines announced by NAC on 19 June 2020 (Phase Two of Re-Opening for Arts and Culture Stakeholders, available here ), we would like to share the following:
a. Performances and events with audiences (“live performances”) will not resume during Phase Two, as the risk of transmission increases where large groups of people gather in an enclosed space. All performance venues in DC will remain closed to such activities.
b. From 19 June 2020, there will be a progressive resumption of other activities for Arts and Culture companies and practitioners. For example, venues such as studios for art-making, can be used as workplaces, subject to Ministry of Manpower’s Requirements for Safe Management Measures at the Workplace. Access to the premises should be restricted to employees and authorised visitors only.
c. From 19 June 2020, training classes and professional workshops may resume, except for singing and voice training due to the higher health risks involved. All other classes, courses and workshops must not involve any element of singing and voice training, and must adhere to a list of requirements before they resume. Please click here to read the list of requirements.
d. From 29 June 2020, DC Theatre, DC Black Box, Visitors Centre, Function Rooms 1, 2, 3 may be used by arts and culture companies and practitioners for digital production and recording of performances, courses and rehearsals (without audiences). The total number of persons (cast and crew) must be limited to 10. Please click here to read the list of other key requirements.
e. OTC Café will are open for dine-in. Usual takeaway / delivery service are available.
AHL will continue to provide a safe and secure environment that our artists and audiences can enjoy.
